In our test of how it cleaned baking soda from corners and on baseboards the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa suction was weaker than other robots but it was still quiet and moved quickly. It didn't mop, however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app is a little basic with no advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It supports Alexa but its voice controls don't seem to be very precise or responsive. Also, it's a bit unreliable when it comes returning to the charging station following a run other robots are able to trace a previous path or sensibly follow a wall around until they get to their destination however the RX3 simply bumbles around until it finally gives up and sends a failure message to your phone.
Another issue we faced was with its smart features, particularly the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. It was effective in keeping our shoes and furniture legs away however it could easily get caught on socks, cables, and rugs. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. However, with a reasonable price and impressive performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering in the event you're looking to find an alternative to the traditional uprights.
